The set is what makes an attack hittable. Tonight we work square shoulders before the ball arrives, a clean contact above the forehead, and consistent location — plus the bump set you fall back on when you are out of system.
The hour
No warm-up — we start on the ball. Three drills, fifteen minutes each, then we compete.
The set is what makes an attack hittable. Tonight we work square shoulders before the ball arrives, a clean contact above the forehead, and consistent location — plus the bump set you fall back on when you are out of system.
Beginner · 1 ball per group of 3, Cone target
Why: Develop the reliable second-contact bump-set used by every beach player.
Intermediate · Cart of balls, Cones or target markers, Full court or half court as needed
Why: Train setting through corner-to-corner tempo setting with a clear rep structure and game-like feedback.
Intermediate · 6 balls per court, Setter target cone
Why: Build attacker–setter rhythm and teach the hitter to call for and trust the set.
Every session ends the same way: continuous Queen & King of the Court. Challengers serve in, winners hold the King/Queen side, losers rotate off. Competitive reps that put the night's skill under real pressure.
