King & Queen of the Court Rules

THE RULES

1. King & Queen of the Court is played with 5 teams.  Two teams start on the court and the other teams waiting on the challenger side to serve.
2. The court has a kingside and a challengers side. The starting positions are determined by a drawing cards where the queen starts on queenside and the rest go in the order of the draw.
3. Each rally begins with a serve from the challengers side. Any player from the team can serve.
4. If the challengers side wins the rally, they move to the kingside, and the other team leaves the court, waiting for their turn to serve again.
5. If the kingside wins the rally, they stay on the queenside and earn 1 point. Only the king/queen side can score points.
6. A team on the challengers side making a serve mistake is out and goes to the back of the line. The king/queen side doesn't gain a point.
7. There must be a maximum of 8 seconds between rallies, monitored by the referee. Regular beach volleyball rules apply during rallies.
8. In case of a tie at the end of a round, the team with the longest stay on the kingside (earning the most points in one turn) advances. If the longest stays are the same, the team that achieved the longest stay first proceeds.
9. The next round starts in the order of the previous round's results: the top team starts on the king/queen side, followed by the challengers side and second serve position, and so on. There are no timeouts or breaks.
10. Each round ends with the buzzer, signifying the end of the rally. Points are awarded for the ongoing rally. The team with the lowest score is eliminated.
11. The winner is determined in the final by reaching 15 points first (or the highest score at the final buzzer).
