Turn and Get the Shot
This drill focuses on developing the skill of the blocker turning while coming down from the block and playing a ball that has been played just over their hands.
How to run it
- 1
In this drill the blocker goes up with the attacker who plays a 'baby line' shot over the block. The blocker then turns on the way down and attempts to play the ball up before it hits the ground. A defensive player can then try to set up the dug ball or they can attempt to play it over on 2.
- 2
Coach emphasis: Keep blocking reps game-like and technically clean.
